Scottish printer donates 25,000 print to local hospice

John Watson and Co has provided free print for a fundraising campaign to build a new hospice in Glasgow.

At present the Marie Curie hospice at Huntershill has raised £12.6m of its £16.1m target, with £25,000 of print donated by the Scottish printer.

The hospice was built 30 years ago but its facilities are dated. The money raised will be put towards building a replacement hospice in the grounds of a nearby hospital.

John Watson said that the gift was in line with the company's "long standing commitment to social justice".

He added: "We have been very fortunate in business and value greatly the success which hard work has brought.

"But we readily acknowledge that with great success comes a responsibility to the community and I regard our charity work as a vital component of the way we do business.

Watson was awarded an OBE for services to printing and charity in 2006.
