The company, based in Woodingdean near Brighton, raised £1,000 with its raffle held last month for The Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for St Barnabas. Prizes were donated by suppliers including Xerox, Antalis and Duplo International as well as local customers.
It also donated 100 packs of five designs of Christmas cards for the charity to sell in its shops, which One Digital managing director Lynn Brazier said would raise another few hundred pounds.
The cards were printed in-house, with the job split between the firm’s Xerox iGen 150 and Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52 presses due to a gold effect on one of the packs, and shrink-wrapped by a supplier.
“When Steve Poland and I were instructed as joint MDs back in April we made a conscious decision to not only push the company forward but also support one of the local charities,” said Brazier.
“It is so easy to be totally focused on the success of the company and doing this gives us and our employees a good feeling and makes us appreciate the position we are in.”
Brazier added One Digital director and owner Stephen White is considering a skydive for the next fundraiser.
The business, which has 24 staff and a turnover of around £1.2m, was established as digital house Digaprint in 1996 and merged with litho printer Carmichaels to become One Digital in 2005.
It currently operates from a 604sqm two-floor leased site and other machinery includes a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 74, a black and white Xerox Nuvera, Roland and Epson wide-format printers and a raft of finishing kit. Earlier this year it installed an HP Z6800 and a Duplo 600i bookletmaker.
