The Scottish print management firm said the purchases would bolster its current offering of PM, press production, graphic design, creative artwork, web design and e-marketing.

Director Mike Hislop said the acquisitions would give the company improved buying power, meaning it could offer a wider service to its customers.

He said: "We have worked very hard over the last four years and we felt the time was right for us to look at expanding our core business in line with the demands of our clients."

The company is also hoping to enter into new markets where it can remain cost effective and continue to minimise overheads.

"We have been doing quite well over the past year, despite the downturn, and have moved to Applecroft's larger offices in Leith, as well as retaining Mind Eye's office in Fife," Hislop added.

SBP Creative, formerly Stress Buster Productions, has five staff and a turnover of nearly £750,000.

Clients of Edinburgh-based Applecroft Print Management include Ryanair, Globespan and BP.
