Speculation is rife that Bousfield is up for sale, but its biggest rivals have categorically denied any interest in the firm.
Amberleys new board is reviewing the businesses, and may sell divisions that dont deliver improved returns (PrintWeek, 5 January).
"Amberley has big problems and wants to get rid of Bousfield. As I understand its open to offers," said Agfa director graphic systems Laurence Roberts.
"Its purely speculation," said Bousfield financial director Len Williams. "Theres nothing that were aware of to indicate that Amberley is seeking to dispose of the business."
Amberleys shares rose last week to 25p and have been trading in volume for the first time since Octobers boardroom re-shuffle. As PrintWeek went to press no-one from Amberley was available for comment.
The UKs leading graphics suppliers have said they are not interested.
Litho Supplies managing director Jerry Mulvaney said: "I cant see the fit were not looking at it."
Openshaw chief executive David Coltart said: "Were not in negotiations. People have associated us with Bousfield because were an acquisitive company."
Three of Bousfield Heatons Leeds sales team, Patrick Ball, Marshall Coates and Lynn Marshall have moved to Litho Supplies.
