Roberts takes over chief finance role at Quebecor World

Battered print giant Quebecor World has appointed former senior vice president Jeremy Roberts as its chief financial officer.

Roberts takes over from Jacques Mallette, who became president and chief executive in December 2007, shortly before the company's entry in Chapter 11.

Mallette said: "Jeremy's strong financial background combined with his extensive knowledge of our company and our industry make him an excellent choice for this position.

"During the past several months, Jeremy has worked extensively with our various stakeholders. His experience and ability to build constructive relationships will help the process to exit creditor protection as quickly as possible as a strong player in our industry."

Roberts has worked at Quebecor World since 1997 and has held a series of increasingly more responsible positions in Corporate Finance, Treasury and Investor Relations.

Prior to joining Quebecor World, he was assistant treasurer at Bell Canada, where he spent 10 years in Corporate Finance and Treasury.
