Coates had worked as a financial director at a number of companies throughout his career, including the last three years at Rigid Group.

Managing director Richard Coward said: "Paul was universally respected and liked by his colleagues and he was a greatly valued member of the strong management team that has been built up over the past few years.

"His professional and pragmatic approach, together with his quiet, dry sense of humour will be sorely missed by all of his colleagues. Naturally, our condolences are extended to his partner, his two daughters and the rest of his family and close friends at this time."

The funeral will be held at Kettering Crematorium at 1.30pm on Friday (20 January). Friends and colleagues are welcome to attend.
