Including warehousing, recruitment, pre-mount and plate storage, and an AV Flexologic flat mount with quality control digital workflow that Reproflex3 developed in-house, the expansion was completed in winter 2023.
The UK expansion took place alongside a mirrored refit for the firm’s New Zealand facility in Auckland.
The firm has traditionally supported the flexible packaging sector with printing paper and films. With the new investment, Reproflex3 said, it will use its know-how in digital file management, advanced colour management and thin flexo plate manufacturing to expand into the pre-print and post-print corrugated sectors.
Reproflex3 group CEO Andrew Hewitson said: “We are investing to create a new category in the post print sector by increasing print quality, print process stability and print efficiencies.
“This is just the start of our investment into corrugate. We plan to grow globally as well as locally as the market responds to our innovations. We will continue to work strategically with companies that have a vision to accelerate their growth and profitability as we’ve successfully done so with the flexible packaging industry.”
The service is now available to corrugated printers, and is designed to complement Reproflex3’s Vortex screening technology as part of the firm’s sales portfolio.
Hewitson said: “Our mission is to provide customers with the highest quality corrugated packaging whilst reducing the time and cost associated with its production.
“This latest capex investment is a testament to that mission and demonstrates the level of confidence we have in our screening technologies and growing production capabilities both in the UK and around the world.”
The investment followed Reproflex3's partnership with BoxWay Packaging Group in September, where it delivered its Vortex screening technology and comprehensive training and development support for the company's production and sales teams.
Reproflex3 employs 92 pre-press specialists worldwide, and deals in 20 countries.
