Redundancies made at GAE

Eighteen staff at failed finishing equipment supplier Graphic Arts Equipment (GAE) have been made redundant, PrintWeek has learned.

The company went into administration with MCR on Tuesday (5 January); however the administrator is continuing to trade the company while it seeks a buyer, with 26 staff remaining.

GAE collapsed as a direct result of its parent company Litho Supplies going into administration, also with MCR, just before Christmas.

A total of 51 staff were made redundant by MCR when it took over Litho Supplies – 46 from Litho Supplies itself and five from Graphica Plus. MCR is currently in negotiations with a buyer for Graphica Plus, a Litho Supplies subsidiary that trades as Andersons.
