Receiver shuts Hunter & Foulis Wakefield plant

The Wakefield plant of Hunter & Foulis has been forced to close with the loss of 15 jobs after the collapse of talks between its administrative receiver and a prospective buyer (<i>PrintWeek</i>, 8 November).

Kroll Buchler Phillips was forced to close the plant on 15 November after it became clear a deal would not materialise.

Hunter & Foulis went into administrative receivership on 29 October after the company said it had been suffering from cashflow difficulties.

At the time, the Wakefield plant was said to have been the subject of considerable interest.

The companys Haddington plant was bought by Montgomery Litho which owns its near neighbour Scotprint for an undisclosed sum in a deal that secured all 70 jobs (PrintWeek, 15 November).
