"We're offering people the opportunity to buy into bigger discounts," said managing director Michael Todd. "So essentially they can make more mark up."
There are five levels of discount available for a fixed fee. The 250 entry-level package is for a 10% discount on all work placed during 2006, rising incrementally to a Plugin that offers a 50% discount and two free deliveries per week, costing 5,000.
There is no commitment to place work with RCS after taking a Plugin and as part of the deal, RCS can provide collateral, such as promotional posters, customer-branded catalogues and websites.
"We like to see the service as having all the benefits of a franchise with none of the pitfalls," said Todd.
He admitted that if firms place a large amount of work and buy at a high discount, the Retford-based firm could take some hits. "But we've already got a core of work that pays for the capital cost of the equipment; what we're looking for now is to fill capacity, so it makes sense."
RCS has signed up more than 40 clients since the scheme launched two weeks ago. The Plugins are offered on the "EasyJet principal", in so far as there are a limited number of places available for each option.
Todd hopes the scheme will help it grow turnover from 7m to 10m this year.
To handle an increase in workload, it's expanding its plant by 1,500sqm and buying a six-colour KBA Rapida 105 and HP Indigo 5000 digital press later this year.
The firm operates three B1 presses, two five-colours and a six-colour, as well as smaller format offset presses and an HP Indigo 1000. It also has an exhaustive range of post-press kit in-house.
