Quebecor wins Metro weekly

Quebecor World has won a New Year fillip with the launch of London recruitment weekly Metro Plus.

The free magazine, a supplement to Associated Newspapers' successful morning freesheet Metro, will launch on Monday with a print run of 50,000.

It will be distributed at tube stations inside the Circle Line in London between 6.30am and 10.30am.

Metro Plus will initially count 36pp, although Doug Read, Metro Plus executive director, said that he hopes this will increase over time as advertising increases.

"This will carry with it five years of excellence from Metro. We've got a product that people love and pick up every morning, and we wouldn't put out anything that would let that down," he added.

The magazine targets the PA and secretarial recruitment market currently dominated by Independent News & Media, which publishes GAT: Girl About Town, Ms London and Nine to Five.
