The Poole-based business bought the laminator, which was installed at its premises last month, from City and West End Solutions (CWE). The investment follows the purchase of the company's first 62 Pro D from CWE last year.
The firm designs and builds exhibition stands using the Prestige Events System, with panoramic graphics that extend from one end of the stand to another without any interruption.
“The stands are built on a modular framework, which means that it isn’t just one big graphic. The panels are attached to the stand with an invisible gap from one frame to the next,” said managing director Alan Jenkins.
“We print to paper using our HP Z6200 printers, and the paper is then sandwiched between a premium crystal laminate and rigid polyester stoplight. Having a second Seal laminator will increase our capacity and allow us to continue to produce fantastic laminated graphics with an excellent finish.”
The 62 Pro MD can process materials with a thickness of up to 38mm at 6m per minute. It has a maximum working width of 1,600mm or 1,524mm when operating above 100°C.
Variable roller technology allows for better processing of soft substrates and its swing-up feed table design allows for easy media handling and set-up, according to Quadrant2Design.
“We already knew what machine we wanted and CWE came out with the best price. We have dealt with CWE on previous occasions for our printers, laminators and supplies and we were impressed with its knowledge and service,” said Jenkins.
Quadrant2Design, which employs around 30 staff and has seen its sales rise by 70% in the current financial year to date, builds exhibition stands for businesses in a wide range of industries including print, engineering, food, and beauty and cosmetics.
The firm recently bought and moved into new premises at Poole’s Tower Park, having previously been based in rented premises at the town’s Creekmore Industrial Estate.
“The new unit gives us the security to expand the company and grow in recognition. So far, the company has gone from strength to strength and we hope to continue to do so,” said Jenkins.
