Purup-Eskofot has signed orders worth over 25m at Drupa, more than double its pre-show target. Contracts were taken for 50 ImageMaker CTP systems but the best seller has been the companys new SpinJet 1000 proofer with over 100 confirmed sales.
Drupa has been the most phenomenal event that Purup-Eskofot has ever been involved in, said CEO and president William Schulin-Zeuthen. During the last 14 days we have taken orders with a value equal to 30% of the companys worldwide turnover for the whole of last year. The sheer volume of new orders means that the company will have to create additional production capacity in order to meet its outstanding commitments.
Schulin-Zeuthen claimed that the success was partly the result of restructuring the way Purup-Eskofot deals with its customers - the number of dealers has been reduced in favour of a directly employed sales team. We need a sales team that knows about our products, not a dont know agent, he said. The approach has been paying off; US sales tripled over the last nine months.
On the opening day at Drupa Purup-Eskofot signed a CTP consumables deal with Agfa. By the close of the show the company had sold 200,000 sq metres of Agfa CTP material.
Its been really hard work, said Schulin-Zeuthen. But its been worth it. Along with the sales weve also taken 3,000 new leads which we will be following up over the next 18 months.
