PSE has streamlined its operations by installing SolPrint’s Buyer System MIS at its Droitwich office, which now handles much of the company’s client-facing work.
The new system, costing PSE around £1,100 a month, handles requests for quotes to multiple suppliers, final client quotes, production control, campaign management and purchasing and invoicing for the company.
PSE handles the tenders to about 100 suppliers in this way.
Guy Barker, operations director at PSE, told Printweek the company had needed a change in MIS towards something that would let it take a closer look at its data.
“I think it’s much more streamlined, so we find it’s a more efficient system,” he said.
“We’re not really there yet, just because of the volume of work that’s going through it, but the bedrock for us long-term is just so much better than any other system we’ve had."
Barker added that the ability to build meaningful reports from the data had been very useful for the company.
“Across the board, looking at KPIs like turnaround, supply review, CRMs, and the way we can slice the data by account manager, by product type, [the advantage was] how editable it is for our needs.”
PSE first installed the system in May 2022, and since finishing the three-month trial period, has been adding features little by little.
“We have just been taking it a layer at a time,” Barker said.
Training took a “solid month,” he added, and was quite difficult after having had a different system for some time - but SolPrint had been keen to help.
“Honestly, if I asked them to, they would do some additional training this afternoon if so required.”
