The Runcorn-based company, formerly PS2 Digital, was initially established as a repro house, but diversified into digital print following the decline in digital film output. The company then expanded to offer litho print in 2002 after investing in a Heidelberg Direct Imaging press followed by a Printmaster PM52.
PS2 Print saw its decision to add the Speedmaster SX 74-5 and expand its offering to include B2 litho as a logical step forward.
PS2 Print managing director Simon Langford said: "Many of our existing customers produce B2 work and we feel we can enter this market with some confidence and promote ourselves successfully as a truly one-stop shop with digital, litho and wide-format facilities.
"We are able to handle different formats, run lengths and products from a simple A4 leaflet through to point of sale material and we can print on slate and other unusual substrates."
Heidelberg is to demonstrate the Speedmaster SX for the first time at Drupa 2012. The B2 format version, which PS2 has installed, runs at 15,000sph and includes Autoplate and Intellistart press software, along with enhanced wash-up facilities that aim to reduce downtime.
