The Reading-based business is the first in the UK to specify the B2 press in a six-colour configuration.
Established 35 years ago, EVC will use the litho machine to produce a range of high-quality promotional literature, leveraging the sixth unit for sealing jobs.
Raymond Curtis, chairman of EVC Graphic Design & Print said the company has been "so impressed" with the technology after seeing it in action in Germany.
He added: "We believe it will give us at least 20% more productivity over the SM 74-6 it replaces because of the clever Intellistart software and the new feed table and perfect jacket technology."
The Pangbourne company also produces a range of brochures, leaflets and direct mail for a client base that includes financial, government and local sectors.
EVC follows Cornwall, Penryn-based R Booth and Runcorn-based PS2 Print by investing in the new SX technology.
"We looked at other options but we have never had any downtime with Heidelberg, the resale value is good. Heidelberg is the Mercedes Benz of print. They give you sensible answers and effective support. We trust them," Curtis added.
