Corporate vice president and group managing director Charles Murray (pictured) has taken on Pettifor's UK responsibilities in addition to his previous remit, which included the UK publications business, gravure across Europe and strategy for Sun's European newspaper activities.
The move gives Murray jurisdiction over Sun's entire UK and Ireland operations.
Murray has established a strong reputation among customers. "He's a great guy - very open, articulate and intelligent and very much one of the new wave of people within Sun Chemical. And I think he fits fully within David Meldram's [head of Sun Chemical Europe] approach to trying to make sure they become an integrated provider of value, rather than a victim of the commoditisation that befalls so much of the industry that we work in," said Pindar chairman Andrew Pindar.
Murray has retained responsibility for Africa but relinquished the Nordic countries, which Michael Griem (another corporate vice president and group managing director) will take over.
Pettifor has become corporate vice president, North American Packaging Inks, which is a newly created role.
The changes take effect from July 1.
