The 23 nominated entries cover a wide range of applications, from food and beverage, cosmetics, and healthcare to upside-down flying orchids.
Submissions were shortlisted for reasons ranging from providing a sustainable alternative to “traditional fossil-based packaging” to innovative functionality or simply beautiful designs, and, in some instances, all three.
For the first time, people are not restricted to just one choice and can select their three favourite products when casting their votes on the carton and cartonboard manufacturers trade body’s website.
Voting closes at midnight on Tuesday 31 August.
“The Public Award is the only European Carton Excellence Award that is not decided by our panel of expert judges, it’s always interesting to see if the general public’s view is different to that of our jury,” said Tony Hitchin, Pro Carton general manager.
The winners will be announced during an online virtual ceremony on 6 September 2021.
