MIS supplier Prism has expanded its services with the purchase of American firm MicroInk Systems.
The deal allows Prism to expand into the US, and gives it an MIS product to sell to smaller print businesses in its existing markets in Europe and Australasia.
MicroInks Enterprise 32 is a suite of Windows software covering estimating and order entry to shop-floor data collection, and includes links with off-the-shelf accounting packages.
Group managing director Chris Johnson said: Our existing Prism WIN and QTMS products are strong in the top 20% of the market, but are too costly for smaller businesses.Enterprise 32 gives us a product to compete with Tharstern and Shuttleworth.
He added that Prism was now the second-largest MIS supplier by revenues worldwide. PrintCafe is the largest.
