PrintWeek welcomes Printing World

<i>PrintWeek</i> has gained a new sister title in <i>Printing World</i>, which has been acquired by its parent company Haymarket Publishing from CMP Information.

Haymarket, which also publishes PrintBuyer and Packaging News, plans to invest in a new look and content menu for Printing World and will relaunch it as a quality, indepth monthly read in June. The current issue of Printing World will be the last in its weekly format.

Printing World editor Rod Hayes, who has been with the title for 11 years, is retiring but will continue to act as a regular contributor. "I'm passionate about print and Printing World and am delighted to be able to maintain my involvement through contributing regular articles," he said.

Nick Stimpson, managing director of Haymarket Specialist division, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to expand our range of titles further and extend a warm welcome to Printing World and its team. It's our intention to build on this title, which has a long and proud heritage in print, and to produce it to the same high standards of editorial and design upon which Haymarket has built its reputation."

Haymarket has also acquired Printing World's sister title Packaging Magazine and will incorporate it into Packaging News, which will be relauched in a new and improved format from May.

PrintWeek editor Lauretta Roberts added: "We've had a long and friendly rivalry with Printing World over the years but have always maintained a healthy respect for it. There's a strong desire in the market for an in-depth, quality read and we'll be delivering just that with the new Printing World," she said.
