Under the deal with Mimaki’s UK distributor Hybrid Services, Printmax will offer the entire Mimaki range of printers and cutters. They join the firm’s roster of HP and Roland DG printers and Roland DG and Summa cutters.
Despite offering the whole Mimaki range Printmax managing director Michael Bolton said it was the industrial products that were the most significant.
“Our customers are growing and so are demanding wider, bigger and flatbed machines,” said Bolton. “They are pressing us for more industrial products.”
The firm has already notched up its first order for Mimaki’s flagship UV flatbed JFX500-2131, which has gone to an undisclosed client for a niche application.
“We are very pleased to welcome Printmax on board. The service that it offers clients is highly regarded,” said Hybrid national sales manager for industrial products Stuart Cole.
To support the addition of the Mimaki products Printmax plans to double the size of its premises to 250sqm with a demo area that is large enough to include one of the Mimaki flatbed machines.
It has also just upgraded its website to support e-commerce and m-commerce for its full range of inks and substrates.
“We want to make it as easy as possible to do business with us, whether that’s continuing to pick up the phone or ordering online at 10pm,” said Bolton.
