Print disposal specialist King Sturge was appointed to handle the auction. It lasted for seven hours and reportedly gathered a lot of interest from overseas buyers.
King Sturge partner and auctioneer Spencer Chapman said: “There was some very keen bidding, especially amongst companies located on mainland Europe and the Irish Republic.”
More than 600 lots were up for grabs, including three Muller Martini Prima saddle-stitching lines and four MBO folding machines.
Chapman said: “The kit on sale was in exceptional aesthetic condition, most of it having been supplied new following the 2005 fire at the company’s premises.”
Printers assets sold in auction
More than 150 buyers descended on the Deeside home of Graphoprint last week, where the assets of the ill-fated printer went under the hammer.
