Printed.com launches design competition with Centrepoint

Printed.com has launched a competition with homeless charity Centrepoint to encourage young designers to showcase their talents.

The competition calls on designers to create a piece of direct mail which promotes Centrepoint’s involvement with charitable giving widget Give As You Live. Once downloaded, this widget allows consumers to donate a percentage of their online shopping bill to charity.

Entrants must create an A5, single-sided design for use as a direct mail shot, to inspire people to download the Give As You Live widget.

The winning design, which will be judged by a panel of creative experts from leading agencies Karmarama, Wunderman and BBH, will be printed and mailed by Printed.com sent out to up to 5,000 UK recipients, taken from the Printed.com database. And the first 2,000 widgets downloaded as a result of the competition will each generate a £5 donation for Centrepoint from Give as You Live.

Printed.com chief executive Nick Green said: "Creativity is a passion for our business so I am looking forward to seeing the designs that the competition attracts from the UK’s best young design talent. Centrepoint’s work is also very close to my heart so the fact that we will be supporting the charity’s exemplary work with young homeless people is an incredibly positive thing."
