PrintCenter Eesti seeks resellers to boost UK POS print sales

Estonian point of sale printer PrintCenter Eesti, is targeting UK expansion with the launch of a reseller scheme.

The company's UK business PrintCentre UK will target UK commercial printers, print management firms and design agencies.

"We decided last year that rather than increase our direct UK sales force we would go the reseller route," said PrintCentre UK director of innovations Simon  Rigby. "We’d already received enquiries from print management companies and rival point-of-sale printing companies about using us for production."

The UK operation, based in Tamworth, West Midlands, currently employs three staff and serves some direct customers, some overseas businesses’ UK requirements, especially those headquartered in the Nordics who are serviced directly by the Estonian parent company and a number of agencies who use it for production.

PrintCentre UK can offer resellers brochures, catalogues and white label website www.instoredisplayuk.com to promote the range of products. For additional fees premier resellers can have self-branded collateral. PrintCenter Eesti can also support custom projects with cardboard engineering to develop bespoke products.

"We can help resellers with every aspect of a job, helping them to be pro-active rather than re-active," said Rigby. " We know there is a market we just don’t know how big it is until we try."

Rigby claimed that offshore production offered significant cost savings but that it was still competitive on turnaround times. The Estonian factory has B1 KBA sheetfed offset, Svecia, Thieme and Serifast multicolour silkscreen up to 1.2x1.6m, 2.5m wide HP latex and 2x3m HP FB700 UV flatbed presses along with large format die cutting and digital cutting equipment.

"Jobs submitted on a Monday will be prioritised for production and be with a UK client by the following Wednesday - in a little over a week," said Rigby. "Prototypes can be produced within 48 hours and sent via next day delivery while 3D renders can be returned the same day."

Target commercial print resellers are firms with a turnover of over £1m who already serve brand owners with other printed marketing materials but not point of sale print.

The UK operation is projecting direct sales of £400,000 before the inclusion of any reseller sales. The turnover of the Estonian parent is €12m.
