Having already converted its office to LED lighting, the Bradford-based mixed discipline printer will now save around £10,000 each year on lighting alone, after converting its 1,200sqm warehouse.
The firm is also looking at installing a 60 KWP (kilowatt peak) solar system, which should deliver between 42 and 60 MWh annually.
The company is considering a few different proposals, based on its track record of after-sales maintenance and pricing, according to Farid Malik, the firm’s business development manager.
He told Printweek: “The print industry is getting more and more competitive by the day, and where earlier, printers could afford a few leakages in costs, each and every aspect of the factory needs to be looked at diligently.”
He added: “With the current sky high prices, solar panels can provide an effective reduction in energy bills.
“It will also play a vital part in achieving our wider program to reduce our carbon footprint.”
Print Plus also installed a Fujifilm Luxel T-X5 CTP machine in late 2022, replacing its older Kodak Lotem CTP.
Malik said: “Fujifilm has been brilliant with the training and service.
“The machine is three times faster than the machine it replaced, which has really removed the bottleneck in the plateroom.”
Print Plus UK had looked around the market before buying, he added, but had liked Fujifilm’s overall package best.
He said: “Their offer was by far the most attractive, in terms of cost, service and reliability.”
