Print-Division installs world's first Rho 800 HS

Slovenia's Print-Division has become the first in the world to install Durst's Rho 800 HS UV inkjet machine.

The six-colour large format printer replaced a Rho 205 and will be hooked up to an automatic cutting table to cope with increasing demand for indoor display work.

The 2.5m wide printer also offers continuous board printing and uses 2,048 nozzle printheads to boost print speed to a maximum 216 125x80cm sheets an hour.

Zoran Markovic, managing director of the Maribor-based company, said they first saw the Durst on display at Fespa earlier in the year before deciding to buy.

"We want to make the production of corrugated display material a continuous process. Not only is the Rho exceptionally fast, it also produces very high quality print and this is particularly important for in-store retail displays."

The 22-year-old company also has three Rho 160 machines and a Rho 600. It employs 44 staff and produces work for retail chains and brands such as BMW and Coca Cola
