The 2.5m flatbed and roll-to-roll printer will be installed next month. The company said it hoped it would up capacity and productivity at the Maidstone company.
The Durst can run at speeds of up to 120sqm/hour but, according to Speed-screen's managing director Tim Hill, even at lower speeds the unit will be at least 10 times more productive than its existing Durst 205.
Hill said: "We're looking at running the 800 for four hours a day and, by doing so, we can add £750,000 to our annual turnover.
"We firmly believe this is the best hybrid machine on the market, with superior build quality and reliability."
The Durst 800 gives Maidstone-based Speedscreen the ability to print white both under and over an image, as well as direct to niche substrates such as corrugated board.
Hill said the new investment would allow the 14-staff company to price jobs more competitively by cutting the cost of work per customer thanks to the Durst's increased productivity.
"We're anticipating more business as the Durst 800 stands head and shoulders above the competition,"he added.
The kit spend will also drive the £1.35m turnover business to expand its premises later in the year to 1,300m2.
Established in 1986, Speedscreen has a client base that includes trade, litho and screen work.
