The Nottingham-based printer is continually altering formats and switching jobs in order to meet satisfy its customers, which led to the desire for more control on work.
Joint managing director Peter Clark said: "We are now able to fold more work ourselves in-house, which means less trade invoices and savings on transport movement cost to subcontractors. In turn this also has an environmental impact.
"The folder has allowed us to increase our productivity by utilising our workforce better and in different ways."
Print 4's new folder has an automatic set-up system, which includes the ability to position the setting elements for the flat pile feeder, fold plate stops, a deflector and fold rollers.
Initially 20 standard parallel and crossfolds are pre-programmed, but it is also possible to save over 200 jobs in its memory.
