The European print giant's UK business helped the publisher develop a way to mechanically onsert 3m teabags to this year’s ‘Must Have Bag’- the PG Tips Sunday Times Polybag.
Initially the bag was deemed impossible to run, but the Prinovis team undertook a series of trials and changes such as redesigning the format of the internal card stiffener, reducing the excess film at the edges of the bag and fixing the sachets within the onsert to avoid lumping and overlap in transportation and handling.
The mechanical onserting was both cheaper and enabled greater volumes to be produced across the three week period of the campaign which ran in the Sunday Times.
