A spokesperson from Prinovis said the company could not discuss the matter any further at this time.
However, it is understood that Borton is currently on gardening leave and that Prinovis has not entered into consultation with any other staff at the plant.
Borton joined Prinovis in 2007 from Poole-based web printer Southernprint, where he was sales director.
He was recruited to Southernprint after stints at Gruner+Jahr, now part of Prinovis, and the National Magazine Company, where he was group operations manager.
