Borton promoted to head of sales at BGP

BGP sales director Ross Borton has been promoted to head of sales to allow group sales director Steve Palmer to focus on Stones the Printers, of which he is also managing director.

According to BGP chief executive David Holland, Borton's appointment will free up Palmer to concentrate on Stones as the group looks to grow the sheetfed printer.

Capacity at Stones will be increased from next month when the six-colour Heidelberg perfector with Cutstar from Pindar Preston is installed at the Banbury plant.

Borton joined BGP in August 2009 from Prinovis, where he was UK head of sales. He was previously sales director at Southernprint from 2004-2007.

He has also been group operations manager at the National Magazine Company (Natmags) and group production manager at Gruner+Jahr.

Borton, who has also joined the board at BGP, will report to Holland and Palmer.

Holland said: "I am sure this appointment will contribute to the continued development and success of BGP.

"This is the right time for this move; it will give Steve Palmer a bit more time, which is crucial with the additional capacity coming on line at Stones."
