"By having stitching in-house we will have greater control of our work and with deadlines getting tighter that is important," said managing director Steve Dickinson.
Prior to the installation, the firm was outsourcing around 6,000 worth of stitching a month.
Primary's latest additions build on the Heidelberg kit the firm has installed in the last year, which includes a four-colour Printmaster PM 52 and two-colour QM 46, a Topsetter 74 thermal platesetter and Polar 78X guillotine.
The next investment for the 1m turnover commercial printer will be a move to upgrade its B2 Heidelberg MOZP.
Founded 11 years ago, the 13 staff firm has recently leased an adjacent building to house its expanding operations. It is looking to move into a purpose-built site within the next six to 12 months.
