In May last year, the independent paper manufacturer announced increases of up to 8%.

It then claimed that the increase occurred due to "significant increases in energy and raw material costs" and a year on, things do not appear to have improved.

In a statement, the company said: "Considering the significant and ongoing price increases of its energy and raw materials, Idempapers, the manufacturer of the well-known Idem brand has decided to raise the prices for its range of carbonless reels products.

"Therefore, Idempapers SA is announcing a 7% price increase on carbonless reels products effective for all deliveries from 4 June 2012. Our sales team will be contacting all customers shortly to discuss the details of the increase with them."
