Dimension Excel includes higher throughput, up to 20 plates per hour, and more flexible plate handling options.

The higher productivity is made possible by Presstek's ProFire Excel imaging platform, which was announced last month (PrintWeek, 4 March).

ProFire Excel also adds improved quality with a smaller 16-micron dot size, 300lpi resolution, and the ability to handle stochastic screening.

In addition to the previous Dimension's manual loading and unloading the Excel includes a bridge to the plate processor.

Later this year an optional autoloading cassette will be launched allowing unattended operation.
