Pre-flighting software developer Markzware and Creativepro.com, the parent company of pre-press software firm Extensis, have settled a patent infringement lawsuit.
The case, which was brought by Markzware against Creativepro, for the infringement of its patent entitled Device and method for Examining, Verifying Correcting and Approving Electronic Documents Prior to Printing Transmission or Recording was settled in the District Court of Northern California.
Markzware president and chief executive Patrick Marchese said: "We are very pleased that the parties have settled the litigation and reached an agreement. We believe this settlement permits the parties to move forward in their best interests."
Details of the settlement and licensing agreements remain confidential. Markz-wares patent, filed in November 1997 and granted in October 1999, covers many aspects involved in pre-flighting files.
