The move follows the announcement in August that the group was reviewing its business, and was considering exiting the commercial litho market due to competitive pressure (PrintWeek, 30 August).
Group finance director Adrian Povey said the move would provide Thomas Potts with a "configured print manufacturing operation under one roof".
The company has also entered into a 30-day consultation with staff, as there will be fewer positions at the new 3,300m2 Harlow base.
Although market conditions had hit Thomas Potts, Povey said it had been looking for some time at all its options, and did not rule out more acquisitions once the restructuring was complete.
The £38m-turnover group will also give up the lease on one of its Peterborough plants, and will retain its east London site until it completes the restructuring.
All the Print Production operations – litho, screen, digital and display graphics – will be housed in Harlow.
Povey will become director of the Print Production division, with responsibility for Potts' digital print business, G&E, and Cambridge Publishing Management.
Group managing director Alan Barnett has been appointed director of the Print Management division and will be responsible for CCS, Fairway and Eurographics.
Thomas Potts employs 280 staff and is scheduled to move into the Harlow site in the next three weeks.
