The two Speedmaster SM 52-2 machines – one a straight press and the other a perfector model – replace an older SM 52 press.
They will handle work for the new five-year NHS contract, which is worth between £4m-£5m and will include the production of stationery, forms and a range of marketing material.
Shaun Johnson, managing director at Potts Printers, said SM 52 presses are "the best machines on the market".
He said: "The seven-and-a-half-year-old SM 52 they replace had done 110m impressions and had been no bother at all."
The new machines will complement a pressroom that also features Speedmaster CD 74 and SM 74 presses, as well as a recently installed five-colour Roland 705.
Johnson said: "Today, press technology is almost too fast for operators mentally and at Potts we have our own process checks so that quality control is exactly right and we move to full-out production only when we are certain the job is correct – preventing errors and unnecessary waste and cost."
Potts Printers employs 150 staff and last year had a turnover of more than £9m. Johnson said that with the new contract on board, the company is looking to hit the £9.25m turnover mark in the next financial year.
