Potts Print (UK) has achieved ISO 27001 information security certification.

The Cramlington, Northumberland-based company said the certification identifies requirements for a comprehensive information security management system and defines how organisations should manage and handle information in a secure manner, including appropriate security controls.

To achieve the certification, Potts’ compliance was validated in April by British Assessment Bureau after demonstrating an ongoing and systematic approach to managing and protecting company and customer data.

The scope of the certification covers the receipt, transfer, storage and processing of data to enable the production of printed documents and provision of direct, trans promo, and transactional mailings.

Potts said that achieving the certification underpinned its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security for its customers and stakeholders.

The new certification sits alongside existing ISO certifications for Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems, BRCGS Packaging Materials, and FSC & PEFC Chain of Custody.

Potts Print (UK) managing director Michael Johnson said: “Being ISO 27001 certified will help us position ourselves for sustained growth and success in today’s dynamic and ever-evolving business environment.”

Technical services director Ian White added: “At Potts, the security of customer data is one of our highest priorities. This certification provides a strong endorsement of our data security practices.”

Last year the business replaced two of its wide-format machines with an Agfa Jeti Tauro hybrid press.
