Polestar to put 10m into new finishing plant

Polestar has allocated 10m from its True North investment programme to a new finishing and mailing facility at Polestar Chantry in Wakefield.

Stage one will be the installation, in October, of two new Sitma 950 mailing lines and a Muller Martini Corona perfect binder in the new 5,200m2 factory, next door to Chantry.

The second stage will be the construction of a new 11,000m sq factory, to be completed in March 2005, which will house three Muller Martini perfect binders and a Sitma 570 mailing line all from Polestar's Chantry Bindery in Middleton Grove, Leeds (PrintWeek, 1 September). This move is set to be completed by June 2005.

"By maintaining some of the existing lines in Leeds while the development progresses at Wakefield, we can ensure continuous operations with minimum disruption," said Polestar Chantry managing director Andy Pickett.
