Tame replaces Jim Algar, who announced he was leaving to join Wyndeham Heron last week. Algar will work alongside Tame for a handover period prior to taking up his new role. His release date is still being finalised.
Much of Tame's career has been spent in the South African printing industry, most recently at print and media group Creda Communications where he was a regional and main board director.
The busy Colchester plant produces more than 40 weekly and 90 monthly titles, and has just installed a new 64pp Goss M4000 web.
* Andy Robinson, the production director at Polestar Chromoworks in Nottingham, has been made redundant.
