Polestar Chromoworks gains ISO 14001 following waste recycling scheme

Polestar has boosted its environmental credentials after its Chromoworks site became the latest in the group to be awarded ISO 14001 accreditation.

All staff at the Nottingham-based company have received environmental awareness training and the business reviewed waste streams, segregating and recycling much of its general waste.

The remaining general waste is now collected in 1,100 litre bins which are emptied by Nottingham City Council and then incinerated to provide power for certain areas of the city.

Polestar Chromoworks managing director Peter Greaves said: "ISO 14001 is a worthwhile accreditation because it demonstrates that we are serious about our commitment to the environment, which is important for customers, colleagues and suppliers alike."

Polestar Sheffield, Petty and Chantry have all received ISO 14001 in January 2007, June 2008 and February 2009 respectively.
