CCTV cameras caught four hooded burglars breaking into the locked yard in Brentford on Sunday 26 October.

They appeared to try to break into the newer of two parked trucks, before driving off in an older one that had a Polar 92E guillotine on board. Both vehicles were fitted with immobilisers.

It is believed that the thieves were after the truck rather than the guillotine, as they didnt appear to look under the tarpaulin.

Heidelberg UK sales director Jim Todd said the vehicle had been loaded over the weekend so it could make its delivery to a customer at 6am on the Monday morning.

We were very unlucky that there was something on the truck. Its not the kind of thing that you could get rid of at a car boot sale, said Todd.

However, he said it would have been worse if parts of a 10-colour press had been stolen.

Fortunately, Heidelberg had another Polar 92E in stock.

Heidelberg has stepped up its levels of security at the Brentford site since the break-in.
