It centred on a layered horse and overlapping backdrops to give a 3D effect. With many elements, packing and delivery was kept simple, with every item logged online so each store could tap onto the site to see exactly what they would receive. Judges approved of this and projects for Peacocks, Kurt Geiger and Dune: “Excellent use of materials, CAD design, layering and depth.”

A Tesco Christmas cracker-and-chandelier display with gold mirror board, silver and diamond enhancements brought home the bling for the printer in Bromley-By-Bow. Judges wanted edge and creativity and got it with a Mars expandable gondola and Castrol car displays. “Consistently innovative samples; a great entry.”

Displays for B&Q and M&S marked an impressive entry for SMP, but the Ted Baker project stood out. Footballing window displays for 83 stores tied in with the 2018 World Cup. The CAD-engineered scene with banners, vinyls and AstroTurf proved more successful than England’s cup bid.
