The Eco-Book model is aimed at environmentally conscious authors, publishers and marketers who pay a small fee, in addition to their job's invoice, towards the planting of trees.
POD said it acts as an alternative to the traditional methods of printing and production while allowing the customer to contribute to the company's environmental campaign.
Managing director Andy Cork, who spearheaded the campaign, said: "We have been able to break the figures right down to calculate just how much carbon will be produced for any and every job processed.
"This allows us to offer our customers the opportunity to directly offset the carbon associated with their job, by contributing, what is usually a very small sum, to the planting of additional trees."
POD has become a carbon neutral company through their support of the annual planting of trees in Kenya.
Around 134 trees will be planted to counteract the effect of the 97.3tonnes of carbon the company produces each year. In addition, POD holds the internationally recognised ISO 14001 certificate for its environmental business system.
Mr Cork said: "It is important that our customers recognise us as a company that cares about the environment, which is why we have invested considerable time and resources into acquiring our environmental accreditations."
As part of the drive to reduce its carbon footprint, the company only uses paper that carries either the FSC or PEFC Chain of Custody information.
POD has also recently launched its new website as part of the initiative.
Director Dale Burgess said: "It is important to keep right up-to-date with technology changes. We feel that giving our customers the ability to receive quotes, place orders and track their jobs online will be as well received as the fresh new design."
