Pindar House is being marketed by Leeds property consultancy Gent Visick.
The detached, 12,280sqm factory sits on a 5.58 acre plot in the Eastfield Industrial Estate to the south of the seaside town and is available to buy or let.
Printweek understands the factory is currently owned by a pension fund.
The separate 11,612sqm bindery building is not part of the sale. It is still owned by the Pindar family.
Gent Visick said that Pindar House benefited from “a significant power supply, headquarter style offices and potential expansion land”.
Director Paul Mack commented: “This building provides a rare large-scale manufacturing and industrial facility, which has particular relevance not only for the local area but also the wider region.
“We very much hope to see this building flourish once again by either attracting a new business to the area or allowing an existing company to expand.”
The original Pindar business started in 1836 as a small print shop founded by George Kyte Grice, with George Arthur Pindar joining the business in the early 1870s.
Pindar was put up for sale 11 years ago after a turbulent period in the web offset sector. It subsequently went into administration with the then-York Mailing acquiring the Scarborough operation in a pre-pack sale.
