He will be responsible for the "graphic communication" sector and joins the company after three years at Pridie Brewster Corporate Finance (PBCF).

"This was a good opportunity as UHY is a bigger firm with 10 offices in the UK and potential in Europe and the US," said Petyt. "I had three very happy years at PBCF and it was a very useful time."
He added that UHY would be "looking into" preparing a bid to be involved in the Enterprise Capital Funds initiative, which is a scheme to provide investment funds for small firms wishing to grow (PrintWeek, 18 March).

"It is on our radar screen but the scheme has been delayed by the government and we hope it will go ahead in the first quarter of next year," he said.

According to Petyt, UHY focuses on four disciplines finding finance for firms, buying and selling companies and transaction support.
He added: "If anyone is considering a management buyout then we would be interested in talking to them."
