Jolly joined HP in September 2017, having previously spent 13 years with Duplo UK, including five years as its managing director. Prior to that he headed up Duplo UK’s marketing before being seconded to its sales team as part of his career development.
Posting on LinkedIn yesterday (2 May), he said: “After nearly seven fantastic years I have decided to leave HP.”
He praised the organisation and the HP Industrial team and thanked his HP customers in the UK and Ireland and his boss, Markus Weiss, general manager of HP Industrial Print EMEA.
Jolly told Printweek: “I’ve absolutely loved my time at HP. I came from an SME to a corporate, and it taught me big business, which is what I was missing. I’ve made some fantastic memories there. I just felt after seven years it was time to try something new. I’m really looking forward to the new adventure.”
Jolly’s last day in the role is today (3 May), meaning that the UK and Ireland team will be under the guidance of his successor, Clare Revell, for Drupa, taking place from 28 May to 7 June at Messe Düsseldorf. Revell was most recently HP PageWide UK & Ireland sales manager.
“I leave HP on fantastic terms. They’ve been an amazing employer. Protecting customers and staff through Covid, for example. Clare will ensure a brilliant Drupa for the UK&I team, I’m really chuffed for her,” Jolly added.
While he wouldn’t be drawn on detailing his new role until an official announcement next week, Printweek understands Jolly’s new position will be a strategic group role rather than frontline sales, and while it will still be in the print industry it isn’t with a competitor of HP.
