Flanagan, who has 15 years' print experience including five years in senior sales roles at MPGi, joined the Wales-based sheetfed magazine printer at the start of the month, following MPGi's closure.
"We don't buy business, we invest in people. The business Rachael might bring in the immediate future is a bonus, but I'm more interested in the medium and long term and having the right people with the right culture and Rachael is a perfect fit," said Pensord chief executive Tony Jones.
Flanagan added: "I was fortunate to receive many tempting offers after the demise MPGi, but given the current climate I needed to evaluate which move was best for me, my career and customers… Pensord came out head and shoulders above the competition."
Flanagan has joined the company as one of its business development managers. The latest boost to 130-staff, £11m turnover firm brings the sales team to five and follows the appointment of ex-Friary Press managing director Jon Parvin last year.
