Supplied by distributor PSW, the new device was installed at the Halifax-based firm’s premises in September.

Pennine Signs has stayed true to HP Latex since the first generation machines were launched in 2008, which coincided with the firm's decision to bring graphics printing in-house for the first time.

Managing director Colin Clewes said: “I was first attracted to HP Latex for its instant curing. Just a few minutes out of the machine and output is ready to laminate.

“I also like the non-toxic water-based inks used on HP Latex printers, in comparison to eco-solvent.”

He added: “HP Latex is compatible with so many different media; it prints almost whatever you can throw at it.

“And we can rely on it to print all day from 8.45am to 5pm – and sometimes overnight – with no problems and very little downtime.

“We’re even able to power it off and leave it for a week or two over holiday periods, as the ink won’t dry up like some eco-solvent inks. That gives me peace of mind as a business owner.”

Clewes said the “versatile and reliable” Latex technology has helped Pennine Signs to grow and move into new markets over the last decade. The business has also invested in a CNC router and a wide-format heat press during 2019.
