Pdf Solutions new file transfer software package, Relay, can compete with managed file transfer services such as WAM!NET and Vio but without file transmission charges, according to founder Stuart Slaney.
Relay can send files via e-mail or ftp using any form of internet connection.
It can be integrated with Markzwares Flightcheck software to provide automatic pre-flighting of files prior to sending. Used this way a problem file will be held until it is corrected.
Pricing has yet to be finalised but will start at around 950 for a 10-destination licence. Additional sites can be added for a fee.
Both the send and receive sites need to install the software to communicate using Relay, which builds in confirmation that files have been delivered to both, and allows a fax proof to be sent.
